If you are a young Nigerian, you know the drill: finish school, send out CVs into the void, and refresh your email, hoping for a reply that never comes.
Meanwhile, your timeline is full of conversations about the digital economy. You see people making money onlineโsome of it real, some of it just noiseโand itโs hard to filter the facts from the hype. You want a clear path from where you are right now, whether thatโs sitting at home with no experience or freelancing with inconsistent results, to earning a steady, dignified income.
The GATEWAY Program exists to close that gap.
Launching as a strategic partnership between Co-creation HUB (CcHUB) and the Mastercard Foundation, GATEWAY is a structured career engine designed to place 340,000 young Nigerians into legitimate, high-value gig work over the next five years.
Not Just a Certificate.
GATEWAYโs goal isn’t just to hand you a certificate; itโs to make you a professional that global clients, agencies, and top companies trust with their business.
Whether you are interested in UI/UX Design, Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, or Video Production and Editing, the program focuses on teaching you exactly what employers are paying for right now. We help you ship real work, build a portfolio that stands out, and connect you to the platforms and employers who need your talent.
GATEWAY is part of CcHUBโs work as a leading pan-African creative and innovation ecosystem enablerโbuilding talent pipelines, strengthening innovation hubs, and partnering across the continent to ensure that innovation becomes a practical tool young people can use to transform their lives.
“But I Don’t Have a Laptop…”
We know that equipment is often one of the biggest walls standing between talent and opportunity. You shouldnโt be locked out of the digital economy just because you don’t own a laptop or have 24/7 fiber internet.
GATEWAY is solving this by partnering with local tech hubs and community centers across 10 states: Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Kaduna, Kano, Abuja (FCT), Delta, Edo, Rivers, and Enugu.
These hubs will serve as your office if you need it. You will have access to computers, reliable internet, and a dedicated workspace at no cost to you. Whether you need a physically accessible space or simply a safe, supportive environment to work away from home, these hubs are designed to ensure you can learn without worry.
Where Do You Fit In?
The program is designed for inclusivity, with a specific focus on young women, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and displaced youth. However, the structure is built to meet you at your current level:
- Growth Pathway: For skilled digital and creative talents seeking to build stronger portfolios and find gig work.
- Foundations Pathway: For beginners who need to learn the core digital and creative skills for gig work.
You donโt have to decide this on day one; your application and assessments will guide us to the pathway that makes the most sense for you.
A Message from Leadership
โThe jobs of today are no longer tied to where you live, but to what you can do. With GATEWAY, young Nigerians can earn from businesses down the road and from clients halfway across the world.โ โ Ojoma Ochai, Managing Director, CcHUB.
Registration has now commenced on the GATEWAY portal (gateway.cchub.africa), opening opportunities for young people to build skills, deepen their expertise, build stronger portfolios, and access global gig work.
