Co-creation HUB (CcHUB), Africaโs leading innovation center has officially launched the Call for Applications for the DPI Partner Ecosystem Project, supported by the Gates Foundation, with the goal of leveraging Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) to address socio-economic challenges.
The initiative presents a vision for a future where AI/digital solutions leveraging digital public infrastructure will expand. This includes advancements in digital identity, payment systems, registry and credentialing systems, and data exchange, all aimed at improving service delivery, fostering economic opportunities, and guaranteeing fair access to digital services for every citizen, especially the undeserved communities.
A total of 15 innovators will receive equity-free technical development grants through an intense product residency program, addressing the issues identified across the sector of interest (health, agriculture and financial inclusion) in the following states (Gombe, Kaduna, Kano and Lagos).
Key Objectives of the DPI/AI Partner Ecosystem Project
- Scaling DPI through AI Solutions: Leverage innovations from Nigeriaโs leading AI/ digital solution startups, to address pressing challenges and enable widespread adoption of DPI.
- Building a Thriving Partner Ecosystem: Foster collaboration among public and private sector stakeholders to develop, deploy, and scale DPI-driven solutionsย .
- Developing a Pipeline of Innovative Solutions: Support the creation of practical, scalable applications that address critical needs in health, education, agriculture, and public service delivery, among others.
- Establishing Digital Champions: Identify and empower key stakeholders to work alongside the government in driving DPI implementation.
This project underscores CcHUBโs commitment to leveraging technology and innovation to solve Africaโs systemic problems and contribute to the continent’s economic prosperity.
