Co-creation Hub (CcHUB) Welcomes Lorna Okeng Atim as Innovation Fellow

CcHUB is proud to announce and welcome Lorna Okeng Atim as our first visiting Innovation Fellow.

Lorna joins us from TeleMuseum, where she is the Creative Lead exploring virtual travel for heritage spaces. Prior to that, she worked as Network Operations Engineer, Vodafone and Graduate Researcher and Project coordinator, Electric South, Cape Town; and as a Business Intern, Google, Kampala.

She is a cultural technologist passionate about unconventional works which brings art, culture and tech into the same conversation. Her work explores emerging tech, new frontiers of storytelling and what that means for the future of Africa’s cultural spaces.  With experience working with technology companies, Lorna is committed to a career in African storytelling using tech.

In this role, Lorna will spearhead the CcHUB Innovation Fellowship to catalyze research on the intersection between technology and the creative community in Africa (Arts, Culture and Entertainment). Her work will promote collaboration between influential changemakers and stakeholders within the tech and creative industry, including a growing base of artists, musicians, actors and technologists to establish and advance relationships with the Creative Community in Nigeria.

She holds a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering as a Google-Zawadi Scholar from the University of Cape Town, and currently a Master in Philosophy (specializing in Inclusive Innovation) candidate at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business as an MTN Solutions Space Scholar. 

As Innovation Fellow,  she will Influence decisions through research to create a structure for a new area of work at CcHUB; as well as inspire us to formally explore the development of a solution at the CcHUB Design Lab through an existing or new practice.  

Her appointment is effective 30th of October, 2019
