‘How might the government use the insights from geospatial data to accelerate the application of data for effective decision making in delivering better public services in Nigeria?’
CcHUB in partnership with the WorldBank, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, The European Union, Korea International Co-operation Agency and the Department for International Development is hosting the Data4Governance Challenge.
The event is an 8-day design for development hackathon scheduled to hold from the February 17th to February 26th, 2020. Teams will compete to leverage data to create compelling narratives, visualisations and models that will be used by the government to improve service delivery and by citizens to promote political participation in governance.
The 8-day challenge in Lagos will bring together hackers across the areas of design, data science, data analytics, software development, machine learning and artificial intelligence to build models and prototypes to illuminate an immense amount of data on Nigeria.
Chosen teams will be selected to pitch to a panel of judges on February 27th, 2020. The first prize winner with the best visualization will be awarded a cash prize of $10,000 while the second prize and third prize will go home with $6,000 and $4,000.
Register your team here to be selected to compete in the Data4Governance hackathon. Applications close on the February 13th.
