At CcHUB, weโ€™re building a bold, creative, and inclusive innovation ecosystem across Africa, one that suupports innovation through four thematic pillars: workforce development, entrepreneurship, climate & sustainability, policy & governance.

In recent months, our ecosystem has flourished through impactful programmes, collaborative partnerships, purposeful gatherings, and community-building efforts that are redefining Africaโ€™s narrative, project by project.

Hereโ€™s a look at some of the highlights from April to June 2025 across our innovation hubs from Lagos to Kigali, Nairobi to Windhoek.

CcHUB Namibia

Our Namibia hub continues to lead conversations on policy, IP, design, and the creative economy.

Copyright Levy Workshop

In partnership with BIPA, we hosted a landmark policy discussion on the proposed copyright levy system with Hon. Fenny Tutjavi. The session explored how to empower young creatives and strengthen IP protections.

Creative Design & Fashion Roundtables

From the ScaleUp Namibia Logo Hackathon to a focused fashion roundtable, our team convened emerging creatives and ecosystem players to explore identity, sustainability, and growth in Namibiaโ€™s design space.

High-Level Stakeholder Engagement

Represented by Ojoma Ochai, CcHUBโ€™s Managing Director, we welcomed a delegation from Nigeriaโ€™s Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economyโ€”catalysing conversations on regional collaboration and creative policy.

CEOs On Investors Roundtable

In April, we hosted the third edition of our โ€œCEO Confidentialโ€ roundtable in Nairobiโ€”this time, focused on the realities of working with investors. Top startup founders shared personal stories about choosing investors, navigating shifting dynamics, and knowing when to pivot or realign. It was a refreshing, no-fluff session that opened up a dialogue on power, trust, and sustainability in founder-investor relationships.

Jesus Tech Hackathon (Faith Foundry x iHub)

Still in April, we partnered with Faith Foundry to co-organize the first-ever Jesus Tech Hackathon, where 120+ developers built five open-source MVPs to serve real-world needs in African churches. With 40% female participation, 20 mentors, and partnerships with ICC Nairobi, OneHope, and Nairobi Chapel, standout solutions included:

  • Play the Word โ€“ sermon-based Bible quizzes
  • OneHope LMS โ€“ youth skills training platform

Safe Space Sanctuary โ€“ counseling matcher for faith communities

The event validated a model for building faith-aligned, open-source tools with real-world application.

Microsoft for Startups โ€“ AI + Azure Tour

In May, we welcomed the Microsoft for Startups Africa team to Nairobi. The AI + Azure Tour stop gathered Kenyaโ€™s ecosystem playersโ€”VCs, founders, and acceleratorsโ€”for honest conversations about the future of AI-driven innovation and new partnership opportunities. This was part of a regional tour that included Lagos, Dakar, and Cape Town.

Calvin University Visit

June brought students from Calvin University (U.S.) to Nairobi as part of their Leadership in Kenya program. They explored our approach to incubation and entrepreneurship support, and met with our HEI team to understand how we connect learning to innovation in Africa.

Open Source Talent Exchange

The visit opened doors to remote hiring and open-source partnerships between German companies and Kenyan developersโ€”powered by CcHUBโ€™s deep tech community.
