Kigali, October 26th, 2023 CcHUB Design Lab, a research and development lab innovating for social impact, proudly announces the launch of its groundbreaking initiative, the “Product Experience Factory”.
The unveiling of the “Product Experience Factory” marks a significant milestone for CcHUB Design Lab as it continues to drive social innovation through research and development, leading to positive societal transformation. Among those in attendance at the launch were innovation managers, company founders, tech marketing and business unit operators, product designers, and software engineers. This initiative aims to address Africa’s significant business, development, and socio-economic challenges and reinforces CcHUB’s commitment to solving them. One of the biggest challenges faced by tech-enabled businesses in achieving sustainable growth is design and innovation, and the Product Experience Factory is the Design Lab’s response to support and strengthen the burgeoning tech ecosystem in Africa.
A large number of companies in Africa are still immature in their approach to design or do not value design enough. With a rapid ascent of digital transformation across companies and industries, customer demands are shifting rapidly, and usability or good design alone is no longer enough to meet today’s customer expectations. Product Design is booming in Africa, and a paradigm shift is needed in the way African businesses engage with their customers to deliver excellent user experiences.
The CcHUB Design Lab, through the Product Experience Factory (PEX), will strengthen and support tech-enabled startups and businesses in Africa, enabling them to access the expertise and resources they need to develop and launch successful digital products and services.
Commenting on the launch, Oluwaseun ADEPOJU, Managing Partner and Head of the CcHUB Design Lab says “This is another avenue through which CcHUB is facilitating collaboration and contribution to the growth of Rwanda’s burgeoning tech community and Africa’s tech sector at large.”

Leveraging CcHUB’s extensive global and pan-African network of partners, the PEX factory will provide technical support for startups & businesses and also build a thriving and engaging community of innovative product people (thinkers, designers, and strategists) that would grow, mature, and strengthen product teams, companies, and businesses within the ecosystem.
